You will be in charge of examining, assessing, rating, and processing new business, renewals, and modifications for a variety of insurance lines as our Underwriter I-III (Commercial).

Every day, dive in and make a splash by:
examining insurance applications, renewals, and changes to current policies in order to ascertain the kind and level of risk. investigates danger and, if necessary, gathers further information.
Analyzing and evaluating all relevant facts about the risk within the authority limit criteria of this job will determine if the risk is acceptable, acceptable with limits, or should be denied. A more senior underwriter must be consulted before declining a risk.
identifying the necessary steps to reduce risk and, based on risk analysis, suggesting changes to rates or deductibles or limitations on coverage.
calculating premiums, applying relevant discounts and surcharges, and determining acceptable rates.
handling quotations, cancellations, modifications, renewals, and new applications.
providing brokers, insureds, and other staff with technical assistance about policy exclusions, wordings, coverages, and rates, as well as responding to questions verbally and/or in writing.
drafting letters to make information requests and to provide justifications for underwriting choices and obligations.
instructing and mentoring clerical employees.
carrying out quality assurance inspections.
testing information systems' correctness, including system changes.
As directed, carry out further relevant tasks.
ACCESSORIES FOR SANDBOXING:
High School Graduation: Completion of the 12th grade. At least one Insurance Institute course must be completed, and completing two Institute courses a year shows a strong commitment to earning the CIP credential.
One year of relevant insurance experience is required.
Policy Wizard: Understanding of policy ratings and associated underwriting procedures.
A master communicator is able to handle many activities and deadlines in spite of disruptions and communicate intelligibly and effectively.
Detective of Details: Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and detail-oriented abilities.
People Person: Interpersonal communication abilities and friendliness—the capacity to sustain productive working relationships with team members and promote corporate culture
