Arborist

Job Title: Arborist Climber (NOC: 22114)

Employer: Anchor Tree Services Ltd.

Location: 10292 Resthaven Dr. Sidney, BC V8L 3H1

Salary: $36.60/hr for 40 hrs per week

Vacancy: 1 vacancy

Terms of employment: permanent/ full time

Start Date: as soon as possible

Job Requirements:

Languages:

  • English

Education:

  • Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of work as an arborist or any related field.

Duties:

·       Training and Supervision of workers

·       Tree climbing and tree maintenance utilizing current ANSI standard practices.

·       Large tree removal

·       Operation and maintenance of various power tools such as chainsaws, chipper, stump grinder

·       Daily management of work crew

·       Performing client consultations

·       Diagnoses and treatment recommendations for tree related pathogens

·       Working in compliance with company policies and procedures

·       Daily/weekly inspection of vehicles and equipment

·       Follow safety procedures and maintain high standards of work quality. 


Transportation

·       Valid driver’s license

·       Proficient at driving commercial vehicles such as bucket trucks and chip trucks with trailers.


Work Conditions

·       Attention to details, Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, Work under pressure, physically demanding, manual dexterity, ability to distinguish between colors, Overtime maybe required, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

  • Certification from ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Climbing Arborist/Crew Lead or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in tree climbing techniques both DRT and SRT, pruning, and tree care practices
